Peewee is a sweet miniature dachshund who came to us through a rescue program in Hamilton. He was about 2 years old at the time… but he’d lived a hard life.
When he was found, he had been wandering the streets in an Ohio town with a fractured pelvis. The rescue group brought the tiny little guy to Canada and supported him through his surgery and recovery before posting his adoption profile.
During our first 7 years together we’ve been through many adventures.
- Served for multiple years with the St. John Ambulance therapy dog program in St. Catharines
- Rode around town in style in the customized dachshund stroller made just for him.
- Busted the myth that dachshunds and kids don’t mix when he became child certified with St. John Ambulance.
- Being diagnosed with a chronic condition, known as “dry eye,” was a real eye opener.
